Fun in Florida!

We had a wonderful Morrow family vacation near Orlando Florida for Spring Break. Peter's oldest brother & his family have lived there for 2 years now and this was the first chance we have had to go down and visit! We enjoyed seeing their life down there and soak up the great weather that goes along with a great location!

Inching Closer to 30 (gulp!)

Yesterday was my 29th birthday. It was a hard one - knowing that 30 is now only 364 days away. Nonetheless, I had a wonderful time celebrating with my girlfriends (Mon) and husband (Tues). My girlfriends and I went to a cute cafe in uptown Minneapolis where we ate dessert and chatted the night away. Peter and I went to Chino Latino in uptown for dinner on my actual birthday. Chino's is known for... well, their somewhat inappropriate menu (i.e. the first item listed on the drink menu was called 'Crack Ho Mojito'. Understand now?). In my efforts to avoid the inappropriate titled items, I ordered a dessert that I thought sounded like an must-have calorie splurge on my birthday: Fried Snickers with Ice Cream. When this dessert landed on our table, we were both wide-eyes that my innocent dessert was in fact NOT SO INNOCENT. In an effort to keep my blog crude-free, I will not go into detail which male body part this dessert mimicked. You be the judge.

Lunch

Today I enjoyed lunch with an old friend.

She lives in New York now - in her cute Brooklyn apartment. She works as a teacher to inner-city children. She recently raised $15,000 to fund class trips for inner city kids to see a musical on Broadway. These kids are from NY - right there among all the wonderful arts that draw so many tourists to the city each year. But in no other circumstance would their families ever afford to take them to a show. I admire Jen and what she is doing to bring a pocket full of sunshine to lives that really need it. It was great to see her. It was a fantastic lunch at a fantastic cafe with a fantastic person. We all need more of that!

Valentine's Day

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day whatever you were doing! Peter and I had a low key day/evening. We went shopping and out to coffee that afternoon. Then, my wonderful husband cooked me a lovely candlelit dinner for two at our place that night. It was great!

Ice Caves

I'll be honest - I hate winter activities. I am a firm believer in hibernating during Minnesota winters. I typically do my best to stay inside and pray for spring to come sooner than later. But, this past weekend Peter and I were invited to go up to a cabin in Northern Wisconsin to tromp around in ICE CAVES! I have to admit - it was one of the most majestic experiences of my life! I had NO IDEA that there could be something so beautiful in the winter. With time, the rough waves of Lake Superior have created big divots in the land..so that when the lake freezes in the winter, caves are formed that you can explore into. What's inside are wondrous havens of ice formations that will leave you breathless with their beauty. We had such a blast climbing in and out..feeling like arctic explorers! I would recommend that anyone in the mid-west (or farther) make a trip up to Bayfield, WI for a winter wonderland adventure :)
